Update: another cat slaying in Estates West
There were two cat slayings in our neighborhood over Independence Day weekend: one in Prestonwood East, and another in Estates West.
Last week I told you about the cat slaying that happened in Prestonwood East, but I’ve just learned that there was a second cat slaying in Estates West that same weekend.
On Independence Day morning, another dead cat was discovered near the intersection of Spring Creek and Alto Caro. The rest of the story is here after the jump—and just as fair warning, the details of the story are graphic.
Estates West neighbor Sharon Erickson was walking along Spring Creek when she spotted a severed cat head in someone’s yard.
“It was a grey cathead, it was just chopped off—it looked like a clean cut,” she told me. “There was nothing wrong with the face, so it didn’t look like it had been in a fight. The head was just sliced right off.”
She continued walking down the block and saw what she believes was a cat limb.
“It looked to be a cat leg with all the skin off it, just skin and bone. You could see a joint and tendons, and it was the size and shape of cat leg.”
We’ve been following a similar trend of these cat slayings in East Dallas, but it now seems like it may be happening in Far North Dallas, too. I’m still in the process of talking to more neighborhood crime watch members to try and find if there are any other reports out there. If you have any information, please feel free to email me—and I’ll keep you posted on what I find.

Satanists. They did this in NY during the whole Son of Sam scare in the 70s. First it's animals, then it escalates.
