Burger Spot opens next week

Burger Spot opens Monday, if all goes as planned, owner John Harris says. There’s one more inspection scheduled to take place Monday morning. As long as they knock that out sans issues, the new Skillman-Royal eatery will open at about 11:30 a.m.

Harris says we can expect more than just burgers. The menu will include salads, house-made mac and cheese and chicken or tenderloin kabobs, to name a few. Harris who is with the John Bowles Company that manages the center, got his start in the restaurant industry, he says.

I drive by the Burger Spot 4-6 times a day — this announcement has been a long time coming. Can’t wait to check ‘em out next week.

  • We drove tonight to our favorite dinner spot, Coach's Burgers, and it is closed. Anyone know what happened?

  • Oh, no! I just sent an email to co-owner Vanessa Stevens to find out the story on Coach's.

  • We tried to go to Coach's but it says they were closed and a for lease sign was on the door. I hate losing Coach's.

  • We ate lunch at Burger Spot today and it was GREAT! So close that I can walk, free popcorn while you wait on your food and then awesome food! Cannot wait for their real "opening party" and see what other cool events they have (they already have an American Idol watching party each week).

  • Tried Burger Spot last night and although the food is good - no better than Coach's or Jake's - the service is terrible. They have alot of kinks to work out in their service and order delivery - waited 25 minutes for burgers/fries, and watched while 3 tables seated after we came in rec'd their orders. When we inquired about our order we were given a smart aleck response by the girl working the "order up" window. The owner or manager that was standing there was quick to apologize on her behalf, but they sure have alot of work to do to make a regular eating place for me and my family - especially during busy times such as Friday nights and game nights.
