  • Employees of Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake raised more than $5,000 to give 50 families Thanksgiving dinners. The employees also donated gifts to 50 teenagers at the Sharing Life Community Outreach shelter.

  • Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert     headlines the Feb. 9 East Dallas Chamber of Commerce Lunch meeting at the Lakewood Country Club, 6430 Gaston Ave. His topic is “the current state of affairs in Dallas.” The lunch starts at 11:30 a.m., and the talk starts at noon.
